Private Funeral Services for Avis Marie Hines of Winfield, MO were held at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Scott Groshong, pastor of Corinth Christian Church near Foley, MO officiated with burial in Corinth Cemetery. 

Avis, 91, passed away Monday evening, January 19, 2026 at McClay Nursing Home in St. Charles, MO. Born June 8, 1934 in Tuscumbia, MO, she was the daughter of Addison and Edith Wolverton Helton. Avis was a graduate of Tuscumbia High School. She worked on the assembly line at Lever Bros., retiring in 1986. 

Avis was preceded in death by her parents, Addison and Edith Helton; two brothers: David and Seth Helton; one sister, Sue Jarrett and her husband, Tennyson; one brother-in-law: Paul Eagles; her sister-in-law, Shirley Wilson; her son-in-law, Jim Brandt; and her beloved husband of 54 years, Jesse Hines, who died on July 16, 2021. 

Survivors include two daughters: Ava Bothe and her husband, Bob, of Winfield and Deborah Brandt of Wheatfield, IN; five grandchildren: Eric Bothe, Jennifer Schulte and her husband, Jerry, Jeff Bothe and his wife, Kelly, Deidra Curry and her husband Charles, and Ramona Bellmore and her husband, Josh; eleven great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren. Avis also leaves two brothers: Bennett Helton and his wife, Arlene, of Tuscumbia and Bernard Helton and his wife, Mary, of National City, CA; one sister, Nelda Eagles of Lockwood, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
