Mike Stuart

James Micheal Stuart, a cherished soul known to all as Mike, passed away on January 25, 2026, in Joplin, MO. Born on August 24, 1942, in Abilene, TX, James's journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, a passion for the past, and a legacy of kindness that touched the hearts of many.

After graduating from Joplin High School in 1960, Mike dedicated over 38 years of service to the Empire Electric Company, where his intelligence and commitment to excellence were evident to all who worked alongside him.








Mike's life was one of deep love and commitment, beautifully illustrated by his 64-year marriage to his loving wife, Sharon Stuart. Together, they built a life filled with mutual respect, unwavering support, and countless cherished memories. His role as a father to his son, Micheal Stuart of Neosho, MO, was one he held with great pride. The joy of his life was further multiplied by the blessings of three grandchildren, Micheal James Stuart II and Danielle of Oronogo, MO, Matthew James Stuart and Jessica of Joplin, MO and Justin Nathaniel Stuart of Granby, MO and five great grandchildren also survive his passing.

A man of many interests, Mike had a particular affinity for working on older vehicles, a hobby that allowed him to combine his mechanical ingenuity with a touch of nostalgia. His garage was a sanctuary of sorts, where he could be found tinkering and restoring pieces of history to their former glory. His keen eye for antiques led him on many an adventure, always on the lookout for hidden treasures that spoke of times gone by.








As we bid farewell to James Micheal Stuart, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we shared with him. His memory will continue to inspire us, and his spirit will forever be a guiding light in the lives of those he loved.

Funeral services for Mr. James Micheal Stuart will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Parker Mortuary with Pastor Mark Ledford officiating. Burial will follow at the Hornet Cemetery in Seneca, MO. Visitation will take place Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Parker Mortuary
