Connie Balestrin

Connie Jo Balestrin, age 82, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at her home.

Connie was born on June 10, 1943 in Joplin, to the union of E.J. and Virginia (Howell) Palmer. She spent most of her life in the Joplin area with a few years in the Kansas City, MO area. She married the love of her life, Donnie Lee Balestrin, Sr. on October 14, 1967 in Joplin. 

She worked tirelessly alongside her husband owning and operating several successful heavy construction businesses; including, Midco Redi Mix later known as Associated Redi Mix, and Balestrin Construction. Connie was a social butterfly, enjoying trips to the casino with friends and thrifting. She was an avid sports car enthusiast, sharing this passion with her husband, and together they owned several race cars and spent countless weekends at the racetracks. 








Beyond the loud and thrilling track life, she enjoyed caring for animals, embodying the very essence of loving kindness. Connie's love for the holidays was evident in the meticulous way she decorated her home. Connie's legacy is one of laughter, warmth, and an unquenchable thirst for life. Her presence was a gift, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donnie Balestrin, Sr.; and one son, Gregg Balestrin.








Connie is survived by her son, Donnie Balestrin, Jr. and significant other, Debbie; six grandchildren, Colten Balestrin and wife, Kendra, Amber Balestrin, Cole Howe, Allyson Tyree, Kylee Sikes and Robert Sanchez; and two great-granddaughters, Paislee and Addisyon; and one daughter-in-law, Debbie Balestrin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.

Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
