(From Clark Funeral Home)Larry Clifford Scott, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on January 17, 2026, at Solace House. He was 77 years old.
Larry was born on March 7, 1948, to John Willard Scott and Anna Orlena Scott. He graduated from Seneca High School and later earned an associate’s degree from Missouri Southern State University.
Larry married Deborah Maxine Scott, who preceded him in death on May 12, 2016. He dedicated more than 30 years of service as a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Newton County Sheriff’s Department.
In his free time, Larry enjoyed fly fishing and spending time outdoors. He was a faithful member of the Neosho Church of Christ.
He is survived by his children: George Scott of Seneca, Missouri; Jonna (Matthew) Adams of Goodman, Missouri; and Jacob (Britanie) Scott of Miami, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah; his parents; and his brothers, John Scott and Roy Scott.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Burkhart Cemetery.
Services are under the personal care and direction of Clark Funeral Homes.

I enjoyed working with Larry and talking hunting and fishing with him. He was a true humble servant.
