(From Buchanan Funeral Home)Phyllis Ann Schaller, a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away on Sunday morning, January 25, 2026, in Monett, MO. Born on August 25, 1936, in West Plains, MO, to the late Purl Edgar and Viola Mildred (Pingree) Good, she lived a life filled with love, devotion, and hard work.
Phyllis was a farmer for most of her life, finding joy and fulfillment in working on the farm and caring for her horses. A devout member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, she found solace and strength in her faith. Her love for flowers bloomed alongside her love for her family, whom she cherished above all else, especially her beloved grandkids.
Phyllis will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, Rick Henry and wife Sandy, Skip Schaller and wife Beth, Jack Schaller and wife Tamra; her daughter, Rita Hartwigsen; her grandchildren, Mica Henry and wife Laura, Megan Henry and wife Katie, Lindsey Dodson and husband Devin, Jake Horner and wife Abbie, Grant Schultz and wife Makenzie, Cody Schultz, and August Jackson "A.J." Schaller; her great-grandchildren, Quincy Hartwigsen, Quentin and Xander Dodson, Emilia and Kamryn Dodson, and Henry and Lilly Horner. She also leaves behind her brothers, Don Good, John W. Good and wife Nancy; her sisters, Evadene Vinneau, Sue Adams and husband Marshall; and a multitude of extended family and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Schaller, who passed in 1988; her parents, Purl, who passed in 1979 and Viola, who passed in 1994; a sister, Maxine Good, who died in 1935; and her brothers, Arnold Good, who died in 2010 and Ray Good, who died in 2014.
Phyllis was a rock in her family and her legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication will forever shine through the lives she touched.
A celebration of Phyllis' life will be held at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a time and day to be announced where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and bid her a peaceful farewell. May she rest in eternal peace. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the St. Lawrence Catholic School. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
