(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Dixie Aileen (Montgomery) Farmer, of Greenfield, MO, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the age of 97.
She was born on July 26, 1929 in Dadeville, MO to Normal and Nancy Alma (Shaw) Montgomery. Dixie was united in marriage to Truman Noel Farmer on July 27, 1950 in Carthage, MO. Most important to her was God and her family whom she cherished. Prayer was at the heart of Dixie’s life. She faithfully prayed for her family, her community, and anyone God placed upon her heart. Her life was a testimony of faith, and the legacy of prayer she leaves behind will continue through those she loved.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Normal and Nancy Alma (Shaw) Montgomery; her husband, Truman Farmer; one daughter, Jana Farmer; two brothers, Farrel Montgomery and Harold D. Montgomery; and one sister, Opal Lee Gresham.
Survivors include two daughters, Monda Jeffreys and her husband Ron of Arcola, MO and Agena Farmer of Broken Arrow, OK; her grandson, Paul Jeffreys and his wife Krista of Arcola, MO; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Jeffreys and his wife Princess of Arcola, MO and Noah Jeffreys of Arcola, MO; one very special great-great-grandchild, Haze Jeffreys; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Greenfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Awaken Church or to the Greenfield Cemetery. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
