(From Clark Funeral Home)Paul Michael Shumate was born on April 9, 1982, in Lee's Summit, Missouri to David Shumate and Linda Witt. He passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Neosho, Missouri, at the age of 44.
Paul attended Wichita State University, studying business, and went on to work as a manager for Walmart. An avid golfer, he loved spending time on the greens golfing with his sons and son-in-law. He always enjoyed traveling and spending time with his grandson.
On September 8, 2022, he was united in marriage to Amanda Sue Powell in Wichita, Kansas.
In addition to his wife, Amanda Shumate, he is survived by his children, Austin Shumate and wife Abagaile, Aden Shumate, Ashlyn Shumate-Smith and husband Gabe, and Audrey Shumate; one grandson, Arlo Shumate; his adoptive parents, Bill and Tina Shaffer of Independence, Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Gayle Frisbie of Osceola, Missouri; his sisters, Ashley Roxanne and Samantha Leonard; his brothers, Jason Lansdown, Shaun Shumate, and Billy Klophenstein; his father-in-law, Jerry Buser; and his mother-in-law, Justine Buser.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
