Elizabeth Wells Howard, age 100, lifelong resident of Joplin, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital after a sudden illness.
Elizabeth was born March 27, 1914 in Joplin, daughter of the late John Deardorf and Bertha Wells Deardorf. She graduated from Joplin High School, and worked for some time, but was mainly a devoted homemaker, who loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow "Woody" Howard, a son, David Howard, and her six siblings.
She is survived by a son, Mike Howard of Joplin; grandchildren, Kimberly Moore and husband Bruce of Clermont, Florida, Shannon Crawford and husband Todd of Nevada, Missouri, Scott Howard and wife Rachel of Lee Summit, Missouri, and Joel Howard and wife Angie of Webb City; great-grandchildren, Seth Crawford and wife Katie, Maggie England and husband Jack, Jessica Oveys and husband Hossien, Tyler Howard, and Josh Howard; great-great-grandchildren, Jude, Cambria, Milo, and Stella.
Private family services will be held at a later date with burial in Howard Cemetery, Carl Junction.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
