Lonnie Mitchell age 61, Joplin, Missouri passed away Monday June 8, 2015 following a sudden illness.
He was born November 26, 1953 in Joplin, Missouri to Freddie and Ruby (Elledge) Mitchell.
Lonnie owned and operated Mitchell Roofing and Siding Company. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. He was very proud of his family and grandchildren and enjoyed being with them.
He married his best friend and the love of his life, Deborah Long on May 3, 1991 in Miami, Oklahoma, and she survives. Lonnie is also survived by a son Logan Long, Joplin, Missouri, five daughters; Deborah Pennington and husband, Adam, Bolivar, Missouri, Meredith Williams, Asbury, Missouri, Patricia Chavez and husband, Santos, Bakersfield, California, Tammie Mitchell, Gateway, Arkansas, Susan Woerner, Carl Junction, Missouri, four brothers; Douglas Mitchell, Joplin, Missouri, Troy Clark, Joplin, Missouri, Edsel Mitchell, Grove, Oklahoma, Montie Mitchell, Grove, Oklahoma, one sister Bridgett Evans, Afton, Oklahoma, ten grandchildren; Whitney Long, Timothy Thomas, Brooke Williams, Thomas Pennington, Jasmine Woerner, Jordan Woerner, Trenton Woerner, Rodimiro Garcia, Jennifer Garcia, Emanuel Garcia, and many nieces ,nephews, family and friends that loved him and will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Luetisha Hogan and Delia Beth Mitchell, and one brother Roger Mitchell.
Those gentleman honoring his life by serving as pallbearers will be; Jay Phillips, Mateo Cua, Daniel Cua, Brian Long, Derek Mason, Matt Hennelly, and Michael Greenstreet.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday June 11, 2015 at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary chapel with Reverend J.C. Walker officiating. Burial will follow at the Hornet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the mortuary.
