Joe Hilton Owens, 83, Marionville, Mo, formerly of Sarcoxie and Carthage, Mo area departed this life on Friday, May 29, 2015 after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Owens entered this life on February 7, 1932 in Tracy, California to the union of the late William D. and Myrtle M. (Garrison) Owens. On April 23, 1952 he was united in marriage to Pauline Sanders in Carthage, Mo and together they shared sixty-three years. He retired from Steadley Manufacturing in 1994, completing forty-two years of service. He loved gardening and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his children; Joye Owens and John David Owens, and four brothers; Harold Owens, Bill Owens, Jim Owens and Ben Owens.
Joe is survived by his wife of the home, his children; Judy Reber and husband, Dale, Wentworth, Mo, Jayne Mahan and husband, Mike, Aurora, Mo, Janae Wittenmeyer and husband, Tony, Seneca, Mo and Jeff Owens and wife, Crystal, Carthage, Mo., fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, one brother; Bert Owens and wife, Noeda, of Mt. Vernon, Mo as well as a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services for Mr. Owens are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Freedom Christian Fellowship Church, Sarcoxie, Mo with Pastor Glen Foster officiating.
