Roy Courtney, age 95, Carthage, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 at Galena Nursing Center after an illness.
Roy was born March 11, 1920 in Roy, New Mexico to the late Thomas Logan Courtney and Lottie Elizabeth Williams Courtney.
He worked as a cattle rancher in Linn County, Missouri for 32 years.
Roy married Dorothy Dean Houston on November 22, 1944 in Columbus, Kansas. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Floyd, Lee, Ralph and Tom.
Graveside services are planned for Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Glen Wild Cemetery, Cleveland, Missouri; Bill Courtney officiating. Pallbearers will be Curt Courtney, Cole Courtney, Drake Courtney, and Robert Mitchell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
