Marijane Reed

Marijane Reed, 69, of Joplin, MO. passed away June 8, 2015 at her home. 

Marijane was born August 24, 1945 in California. Her parents were Richard and Vickie Smith. She was a lifelong resident of the Joplin area. She was a draftsman for Southwestern Bell and worked part time for Joplin R-8 School. She had a passion for quilting and sewing and donated quilts to the hospital and to local doctor’s offices. She loved her pets and was Elvis Presley’s biggest fan with frequent trips to Graceland. She placed special emphasis in the love of family traditions, and was the glue that held the family together. 

Marijane was united in marriage to Roger Reed II in Miami, Oklahoma he survives. She is also survived by her first husband and lifelong friend John C Danner, Jr. he survives, she is survived by one daughter Kimber Shields of Carl Junction and one son Eric Danner and his wife Tara of Joplin, two grandsons Brian Shields and Stephen Shields, two sisters Linda Wilson and Beverly Wood, two brothers John Shreve and Jack Smith and much more family in California that includes many cousins, nieces and nephews. Marijane is preceded by her parents Richard and Vickie Smith, one brother Ronald Bradle and one sister JoAnn Smith and Mother-in Law Mildred Wilson 

Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday June 12, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday June 11, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
