Luther Junior Thomason was born April 8, 1961 at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar, MO and passed away June 14, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Luther is survived by his mother, Gloria Scott of Jasper; his brothers, John and wife Norma Thomason of Lamar, Darrell Thomason of Jasper, Rick Leivan of Jasper, Tim Thomason of Brookfield, MO; sister, Teresa Splain of Maryland; son, Michael and wife Marie Thomason of Sarcoxie, MO; four grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Luther was preceded in death by his father, Luther E. Thomason and sister, Kathleen (Kathy) Lida. Luther attended Jasper High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Jasper. He was an over the road truck driver for more than 25 years. He loved driving over the road after he started driving cross country with his dad, Luther. He loved working in his yard and his two constant companions, his dogs, Pooh and Itsy.
In his early years, Luther loved riding motorcycles, working on and driving his cars. His sense of humor and having fun is what people will remember most, and that he loved his family and closest friends unconditionally. Luther is loved by many and will be missed.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Water Cemetery near Jasper, MO.
