Flint Allen Limberg, Sr., age 53, of Lamar, passed away at 2:39 a.m. Saturday morning, February 27, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital following a two-year illness.
Flint was born August 8, 1962 in Cuba, Missouri, one of the six children of Johnny and Rose Marie (Burns) Limberg. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Elvin Limberg; and two sisters, Carol Limberg Miller and Vicki Limberg Combs.
Industrious and dependable even at a young age, Flint worked in the vineyards near Steelville during high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1981, serving overseas for two of his four-year tour of duty. Flint fulfilled his Marine Corp Reserve obligation in 1987 and joined the Missouri Army National Guard where he helped with many stateside natural disaster recovery efforts. The discipline of military duty made Flint an excellent leader in his civilian career. His work ethic was evident during the 17 years he was a shift supervisor at BPI in Cuba, Missouri and the nine months he worked at Land of Lakes Purina in Springfield, Missouri. After perfect attendance at each of his jobs, Flint was forced to retire from Jasper Products in Joplin two years ago due to pancreatic cancer.
On May 7, 1994 at Bible Baptist Church in Cuba, Flint married Terri Jan Fowler and she survives of the home. Also surviving are their GrandBlessings, Ezekiel Saul Perry Isaiah Ramirez, Kloee Mae Ruby Stuckey, and Azariah Trinity Jan Olivia Fowler, all of the home; a son, Flint A. Limberg, Jr., Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Teisha Mae Ruby Manka, Sarcoxie, Missouri, a brother, Ronald Lee Limberg, Sullivan, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Kevin Skidmore, Cuba, Missouri; a sister, Sheila Kristensen, Houston, Texas; and a sister-in-law, Vicky Skidmore, Cuba, Missouri. He also leaves five nephews, Bradley Miller, Holt’s Summit, Missouri, Elvin (Mary) Limberg, Owensville, Missouri, Dustin Limberg, Webster, Texas, Deputy Ryan (Amber) Limberg, Potosi, Missouri, and Brandon Limberg, Bourbon, Missouri; two nieces, Candace Miller and Nicole Kristensen-Frericks; grand-nephews, Carson, Dalton and Jacoby Limberg; three grand-nieces, Ilene and Lily Limberg and Audrey Michelle Frericks. Flint will also be deeply missed by his large extended Fowler family and a host of wonderful friends.
His family and his Lord were always priorities in Flint’s life. At Bible Baptist Church in Cuba, he served as a trustee, sang in the quartet and worked in bus ministry for nearly 13 years. Flint and his family attended First Baptist Church and Church for Imperfect People in Lamar. His love for his wife, children, and especially his GrandBlessings will leave an ever lasting legacy and they will forever remember his deep voice saying “Love ya more than I can ever give ya!”
A memorial service celebrating Flint’s life including military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13th at First Baptist Church of Lamar. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.
The family will welcome friends from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12th at the Limberg home at 1203 East 15th Street in Lamar.
