Bobbie Collings, age 73 of Carl Junction, Mo. passed away Saturday morning at 1:35 a.m., June 10, 2017, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Bobbie was born on October 20, 1943 in Joplin, the daughter of the late Godfrey Reynold and Marietta Fleming Busick. She lived in Joplin all of her life. Bobbie married Sonny Collings on August 24,1959. For most of her life she was a stay at home mom but after the kids were raised she decided that she wanted to open a convenience store. For ten years she owned and operated Sonny’s Country Mart on JJ highway north of Carl Junction she also was a hairdresser for a while.
She is survived by her husband, Sonny of Carl Junction, Mo., and two sons, Randy Collings and his wife Betty of Webb City, Mo., David Collings and his wife Julie of Grove, Ok., two daughters, Joyce Hildreth and her husband Ed of Kansas City, Mo. and Sonya Tullis of Joplin. Two sisters, Patty Rosemary “Busick” Seward and her husband John of Webb City, Mo., Jennie Lee “Busick” Miller and her husband Raymond of Coquille, Or. Ten grandchildren, Randy, Maranda, B.J., Marshall, Tifini, John, David, Makala, Braden and Sheldon. Thirteen great-grandchildren. Her brother Godfrey “Red” Reynold Busick passed away the morning after Bobbie.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Richard Chambers, Minister, will officiate. Entombment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Randy A. Collings, B.J. Ritter, Marshall Ritter, John Tullis, David Tullis, Braden Tullis and Sheldon Collings. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Mortuary.
