Donald Wall

Donald F. Wall, 87, entered into rest on June 16, 2017 in Mt. Vernon, MO, following an extended illness.

Don was born Aug. 3, 1929 in Park Rapids, MN, the son of James H. and Hazel K. (Aleck) Wall. He entered the U.S. Air Force on Jan. 26, 1948 and served his country until his retirement as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1971. He loved his country and he loved the American flag. Following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force he was a water quality instructor at the Water and Wastewater Technical School and Crowder College. He enjoyed fishing, was a great cook and made the best pancakes ever, loved to travel, but first and foremost loved his family. He was a member of St. Canera’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and TREA. Don and Frances (Thompson) were married on Nov. 14, 1953 at Virginia and she preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 1990. 

He married Novene (Hood) Stanley on Aug. 26, 1995 at Kansas City, MO and she survives. Additional survivors include three children, Michael Wall of Springfield; Connie Lipscomb and husband, Charles of Springfield and Steven Wall and wife, Brenda of Ozark; one stepson, David Stanley and wife, Robin of Gladstone; seven grandchildren, Joshua and wife, Tiffany, Nathaniel, Annie and husband, Keith, Christian, Matthew and wife, Kelli, Courtney and husband, Alex and Micah; one step grandson, Grant and wife, Meagan; four great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Wall of Oregon; two sisters, Ruth Miller of Virginia and Sally Lester of Minnesota; a sister in law, Ruby Thompson of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Mike Wall and Leonard Wall and a great grandson, Keigan Michael Wall.
