Glenn Wayne Shaffer, age 92, of Carl Junction, MO passed away on Wednesday, August 02, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
He was born on March 20, 1925 in Girard, Kansas to Lee Shaffer and Anna Shaffer. Glenn was a veteran of the United States Army having served in both the World War II where he was a POW, and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife Nellie E. Shaffer of the home; a son, James Malone and wife Joyce of Neosho; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Nikirk, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.
A graveside service with full military rites will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Ozark Cemetery in Joplin.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
