Leaving the loving arms of his family into the loving arms of his savior, Charles Warren Cagle passed on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Denny Kruse and Tye Zola will officiate. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, Missouri. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home.
Warren was born in Portland, Oregon, to Charles Herbert and Irene McClure Cagle on February 18, 1941. As an infant, his parents moved to Exeter, MO, where he grew to a young adult. As a graduate of Exeter High School in 1959, he attended S.M.S. (now Missouri State University) on a scholarship; graduating in 1963. He was a member of the SMS Swim Team and the R.O.T.C. program. Following his graduation, he was employed by the United States Government to work on high security mapping during the cold war. Living and worked in the urban area wasn’t ideal for Warren. Following one year in the city, he and Betty returned to his beloved Ozarks where he could enjoy fishing on Table Rock Lake, quail hunting and Indian Arrowhead hunting. Warren was a true outdoorsman and a gentle soul. He served the Neosho R-5 School District as a junior high science and math teacher from 1965 – 1995. Following retirement, he developed a mowing service to provide extra income for his retirement activities. He also worked as a fishing guide on Table Rock Lake.

He and Betty (Ware) were married on June 1, 1963, after dating through their high school and college years. In fact, he told Betty in their junior high school years, that he knew they would marry one day. The marriage celebrated 54 years on June 1, 2017. To this union, one beloved son, Charles Scott Cagle was born in 1967. Scott married Laurel Goin on September 8, 2001 and they now reside in Neosho. Warren was baptized at the Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ in Neosho, where he worshipped since its’ establishment in December, 1987. He served as an elder for three years and worked with the benevolence team for twelve years. His faith and Christian fellowship were very important to him. For those who knew him well, Warren will be remembered as a loving husband and father, who put others’ needs before his own and for his selflessness, unique sense of humor and thoughtfulness. His passing will leave a big void, but many happy memories for those who knew him.

Other survivors include a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Martha and Gary Dunham of Grove; a brother-in-law, David Davis of Exeter; and a sister-in-law Charle’ Ware of Aurora. Niece and nephew survivors are Lorinda Day of Clever; Tim Davis and wife Lesa of Pierce City; Belinda Ware Saaf and husband Tomas of Aurora; and Christopher Ware and wife Misty of Springfield along with several cousins and great nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judith Ann Cagle Davis.
The family request that memorial contributions in Warren’s memory be made to the Neosho Christian School in care of Clark Funeral Homes, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
