Gary Baird, 70, Carthage, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home. Gary Baird was born on September 26, 1947 in Carthage, MO to Luther Baird and Joan (Powers) Baird. He graduated from Carthage High School, Class of 1965. He then received his B.S. in Chemistry from MSSC in 1973. Gary was a chemist for Baird Scientific for 25 years. He married Mary Riner on February 14, 1973 in Round Grove, MO; she survives. Gary was member of the Jehovah Witness Church in Carthage.
Survivors include his mother, his wife, two daughters, Sara Baird, Carthage, MO, and Stephanie Edwards (husband Nick), Carthage, MO; one son, Sam Baird (wife Jennifer), Carthage, MO; two brothers, Tom Baird (wife Debbie), Joplin, MO, and Marvin Baird (wife Dolly), Carthage, MO; two sisters, Brenda Spencer (husband Richard), Carthage, MO, and Sharon Rhine, Carthage, MO; and four grandchildren, Leo Baird, Isabella Baird, Aidan Baird, and Nadia Baird.
He was preceded in death by his father.
