Linda Verline Stroupe, age 63, passed away Thursday morning October 19, 2017 at her home following an illness.
Linda was born July 12, 1954 in Bonne Terre, MO. Her parents were Darrell Ray Sumpter and Verline (Skiles) Sumpter.
She had lived in Baxter Springs for the past 2 years, moving from Galena, KS where she had lived since 2007. She was raised in Doe Run, MO. She worked as a cook in several restaurants for a number of years. Her last position was a Therapist at the Family Life Center, Riverton KS.
She loved to crochet and work on other craft projects. She loved being with her grandkids Linda was the mother of 5 children.
Her two daughters preceded her in death, Anastasia Stoupe, and Jessica Sundean and her husband, Robert.
Surviving are three sons, David Matthew DeClue (wife, Carolyn), Columbus, KS, Darrell Ray Sumpter II, (wife, Rebekka) Columbus, KS, and Mark Andrew Stroupe II, (wife, Melody), Joplin, MO; one siste,r Margaret Junker, Clarksville, TN; and four grandchildren. Stacey Sumpter, Shailyn DeClue, Damian Domingues, and Andrea Stroupe. She was excited in knowing a 5the grandchild was on the way.
She was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation. NO services are planned at this time.
