Georgia Deer

(From Knell Mortuary)

Georgia A. Deer, 67, Carthage, MO, passed away early Saturday morning, October 28, 2017 at Carthage Health & Rehab, Carthage.

Georgia Ann (Bradley) Deer was known for her vibrant red curls, spunky personality, strong faith, and zealous passion.

She shared love through her culinary skills. She completed her Hotel and Restaurant Management degree at Crowder College in Neosho, Mo. She worked in the food industry for many years. Among her various roles were waitressing at the C&W cafe on the square in Carthage and at Joplin’s infamous Rafters restaurant. She also worked as the food service director for Diamond schools; and served in the meal program at a local faith-based organization. Her catering included, among other mouthwatering creations, special occasion cakes, fruit sculptures, and decadent appetizers.

She is likely serving as a hospitality coordinator in Heaven now. In addition to her love of food, her legacy includes her strong faith. She loved worship music and caring for others. A lifelong friend of hers shared how Georgia’s fierce loyalty, kind heart, and selflessness have made so many others’ lives better. Her laugh was infectious. She loved passionately.

Family was so important to her. She traveled many miles and conducted in-depth historical research to trace her family lineage and compiled a genealogy portfolio that has helped many extended family members trace their ancestral trails.

She was the youngest child of Winston C. and Olga Agnes (Garner) Bradley of Diamond. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Tom and Winston Bradley, sisters Roxy Shull and Bonnie Endicott, and two infant brothers. The daughter of a farmer, a devoted sister, and selfless mother, she made her home in Diamond, Mo. She loved her two children and fiercely adored her grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 10 am, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo. Minister Cody Walker will officiate. She is enjoying all the gorgeous wildflowers she could want in Heaven.
