Lillian Black

Lillian Corine Harper Black, age 100 passed away at her daughter’s home in Diamond, Missouri on Tuesday October 10, 2017.

She was born to the late Elmer and Nancy Harper in Prosperity, Missouri in a mining shack and she had lived in the Duenweg and Webb City, Missouri area her entire life. She was married to the late Clifford Nathanial Black of Alba, Missouri.

Corine was employed at the former Elmhurst Rest Home in Webb City, Missouri and she retired in 1985 after 23 years of employment. Family and friends were very important to her. She was a member of the Duenweg Assembly of God Church.

Corine as all knew her was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook, crochet, play dominos and work crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Inez Hodges; three brothers, Clarence, Harold, and Dwight Harper; one son, David Black; one daughter, Jane Mitchell; and one granddaughter, Tonya Black Spencer; three son-in-laws, LeRoy Lambeth, Cliff Drake, and Richard Mitchell.

Corine is survived by one son, Delbert Black, Reeds, Missouri; two daughters, Judy Lambeth, Carthage, Missouri, Susan Drake, Diamond, Missouri; one sister, Gladys Harper Wynne; eight grandchildren, June Mitchell, Belinda Kirkland, Scott Drake, Micki Drake Stembridge, Craig Black, Curtis Black, Glenn Black, fourteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren plus one great great grandchild on the way, and one great great God grandchild, Bailey Drake, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Those gentlemen honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are, Craig Black, Curtis Black, Trevor Drake, Dusty Mitchell, Tom Ogle, and Joe Stembridge.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday October 16, 2017 at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Greg Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm Monday prior to the service.
