(From Parker Mortuary)I am heartbroken to announce the death of my adoring husband, Larry Anderson at the age of 79. He sadly passed Monday July 24, 2023 at 7:00 AM due to multiple complications. He was born May 8, 1944 in Elgin, Illinois, and grew up in Westville IN. He served in the Navy for 4 year.
He was a local delivery truck driver for 40 years and retired at the age of 58 so he could take care of his seriously ill wife and mother of his two sons, Geri Anderson. In 2009 He married Sarah Hallstrom from Rockford IL, then moved to Joplin MO where she resided at the time.
He loved animals, nature, doing yard work, old cars, was a fantastic handyman, great father and loving husband. He was generous, considerate, kind, and respectful of everyone. He will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his father Roy Anderson, and mother Phyllis Anderson, Larry was preceded in death by a son, Larry Anderson, Jr. a sister, Judy Anderson, and a brother Roy Anderson Jr.
Survivors include his adoring wife, Sarah Anderson Joplin MO; son, Randy Anderson and wife Robin, Joliet, IL, step-daughter, Wendy Catlett Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Lanie Anderson, Jenni Anderson, Brandon Hammer, Felicia Byrd, numerous great-grandchildren; and 2 siblings, Gay House, Galena KS, and Earl Anderson, Ottawa, IL.
Memorial service will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel, conveniently located at 1502 S. Joplin Street Joplin, MO 64804.
