Bud Boes

Bernard "Bud" Victor Boes, age 91, of Pierce City, MO passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage, MO. He was born in Newton County, MO on Wednesday, May 25, 1932; son of Frank and Bertha (Koenig) Boes. He was a member of the 1950 graduating class of Diamond High School. He served his country in the US Army. 

Mr. Boes married Rosemary Elbert on Saturday, April 14, 1956, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie, MO. They were married 67 years. 








Mr. Boes worked at Eagle Picher in Joplin, MO for 40 years retiring as a maintenance worker. He loved working his black Angus cattle, gardening, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He gave many tractor rides to those little ones over the years. Mr. Boes was a hard worker. He was well liked and well respected by his family and friends. He was a lifetime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie, MO and was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are the following: his wife, Rosemary; four children, Edward (Cindy) Boes of Jasper, MO, Stephen Boes of Pierce City, MO, Janet (Paul) Brown of Carthage, MO, and Philip (Suzanne) Boes of Jefferson City, MO; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta (Robert) Graskemper of Pierce City, MO and Wilma (Bruce) Rolland of Kenwood, California; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.








Welcoming him to heaven were his parents, Frank and Bertha, and his sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Lyle) Nissen.

The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM. Rosary will be led by Cheryl Elbert beginning at 6:30 PM

Funeral Mass will be at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sarcoxie, MO on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, beginning at 10:30 AM with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Sarcoxie, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
