(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Katelynn “Katie” Louise Carlson, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home on January 4, 2026.
Katie was born on January 1, 2001, in Fort Riley, Kansas, to Rick and Marcia Carlson.
She graduated from Neosho High School class of 2019. Growing up in a military family, she experienced a life of travel and adventure that helped shape her curious spirit and love for the world around her.
She was an avid animal lover, with a special affection for cats and dogs, and she also enjoyed collecting wolf memorabilia—reflecting her appreciation for strength, loyalty, and independence. Katie’s unique kind heart and gentle nature were evident in the care she showed to both people and animals alike.
She is survived by her loving parents, Rick and Marcia Carlson; her brother, Shawn Carlson of Neosho; and her beloved nephew, Jasper Carlson.
Katie will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
