Donald Brand

Donald Wayne Brand, age 57, of Galena, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin.

Don was born February 13, 1958 to Charles Fredrick Brand and Diane DeGraffenreid Brand in Joplin. He was a lifetime resident of Galena, Kansas and graduated from the Galena High School.

Don worked many years as a self contractor and for the last seven years worked as a grounds keeper for the Galena Housing Authority. He attended Faith Holiness Church in Joplin.

On January 29, 1980, Don married Kathy Leas in Miami, Oklahoma. She resides of the home in Galena after 35 years of marriage.

Additional survivors include his mother, Diane Brand of Galena; sons, Robert Brand of Galena, Jason Henson (Juanita) of Joplin; brother, David Brand (Lottie) of Galena; sisters, Rosalee Wilson of Riverton and Kathrene Doty of Galena.

Don is preceded in death by his father, Charles Brand; brother, Billy Brand and a sister, Teresa Doty.

Graveside services have been set for Monday, July 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Oakhill Cemetery in Galena. Rev. Larry DeGonia will officiate. Family will receive friends Sunday from 3-4:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
