Katherine Anglen

Katherine Earle Rowe Anglen, age 95 of Joplin, passed away at 3:25 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at National Healthcare Center in Joplin.

Born December 1, 1919 in Eureka Springs, AR, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Myrtle Strecker Rowe, and moved with the family to Joplin in 1921. Katherine was a price checker for Fleming Foods for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and served on the Ozark Area Girl Scout Council, beginning in 1963. Although she had no children of her own many of the girl scouts would call her Mother, and they would also continue to send her birthday and Christmas cards all through the years.

Her husband, Clark E. Anglen, preceded her in death on February 20, 1979. A brother, Eugene Rowe and a sister, Mary Ruth West, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include one brother, Bill Rowe and wife Carolyn of Joplin; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Girl Scouts Ozark Area Council.
