Sharon Fields

Sharon Jean Fields, age 73, of Lamar, Missouri, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born on December 22, 1941 in Wyandotte, Michigan to the late Arnold Timmer and Mildred Gatchell Timmer. She attended high school at Bently High School. After moving to Missouri, she lived in Liberal for many years and then later moved to Lamar where she has resided for nearly the last 30 years. While in Liberal, Sharon worked as a Pharmacy Assistant for Jones Drug Store. After moving to Lamar, she worked as a housekeeper for Barton County Memorial Hospital where she was affectionately known as "Buffy" because of her passion to make the floors shine in the hallways. Sharon retired in 2013 after 22 years of service for the hospital.

She was a member of the Christian Church of Liberal and Lamar.

She married Preston Fields in Liberal, Missouri and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2001.

Sharon is survived by a daughter, Katryn Randi Rion and husband, Donnie of Carl Junction; grandsons, Tim Winnett and wife, Lisa of Oronogo, John Winnett and friend, Brandi of Carl Junction, Josh Winnet and friend, Breanna of Pacific, Missouri; step grandchildren, James Rion and wife, Stephanie of Joplin and Meaghan Rion of Joplin; sister, Sandra LaFuente of Columbia, Tennessee.

Services for Sharon are planned for Monday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary. Family will receive friends Sunday from 3-5:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery. A grandson, Tim Winnett will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Oronogo in care of the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
