(From Lakin Funeral Home)Vera Orean Mangrum, age 72, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at her home in Pierce City, MO. She was born in Yuma, AZ on Wednesday, October 14, 1953; daughter of George and Willa Mae (Finley) Nunnaley. She graduated from high school in Arizona.
At the age of 20 she moved to Tennessee, then moved to Pierce City, MO in 1998. Vera retired from her career as an ophthalmology tech in Joplin. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren, watching many of their games. She enjoyed playing outside with her dog, Bonnie, working in her yard, and studying her Bible. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Surviving are the following: three children, Crystal (Billy) Adams of Pierce City, MO, Jason Campbell of Joplin, MO, and Kaci (Justin) Guinn of Stark City, MO; eight grandchildren, Coty Hatfield, Brittany Hatfield, Kaitlin Hoffman, Ryan Jervaso, Jessica Stanley, Remi Guinn, Sadi Guinn, and Silas Guinn; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Cynthia Jo Renk of Alaska; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, George and Willa Mae Nunnaley, two sisters, Deborah Calif and Dennice Lawton; and a granddaughter, Maci Guinn.
Vera has been cremated at her request. Services will be planned at a later date. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
