Brenda Buchanan

Brenda Kay (Wrobleski) Buchanan, age 66, of Liberty, MO passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with family by her side, in Kansas City, MO. She was born in Monett, MO on Sunday, August 23, 1959; daughter of Gerald and Betty (Craton) Wrobleski. She was a 1977 graduate of Pierce City High School where she was football homecoming queen her senior year. 

In 1981, Brenda moved to Kansas City and spent 41 years working for Hallmark Cards while building quite a Christmas ornament collection. Brenda loved to sew, travel to the beach, swim, watch the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, listen to music, and garden. You could always find her dancing around the kitchen while cooking and baking. She liked taking walks with her grand dogs, Athena, Apollo, Cupcake, and Forrest and looking for 4-leaf clovers. Brenda loved weekly lunch dates with her friends and enjoyed playing games around the kitchen table. She cherished time with her kids and grandkids always looking forward to visiting and laughing with them. 








Brenda was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO. She had a strong, unwavering faith and always read a daily devotional. She put others before herself and strived to make others happy. She was very positive and looked on the bright side of every situation. She was a woman who gave more than she took. She was a difference-maker and will be missed by many.

Surviving are the following: three children, Tiffany Gripka of Monett, MO, Brittany Nolan and fiancé Ryan Fender of Kansas City, MO, and Brendan Buchanan of Liberty, MO; three grandchildren, Marley Gripka, Nolan Gripka, and Harlan Fender; sister, Jacki (Kyle) Edwards of Monett, MO; brother-in-law, Gary Pierce of Pierce City, MO, sister-in-law, Missy Wrobleski of Monett, MO, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Those welcoming Brenda to heaven include her parents, Gerald and Betty Wrobleski; brother, Rodney Wrobleski; and sister, Guessie Pierce. 








The family will receive friends at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM with Rosary service beginning at 8:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Thursday, January 15, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Burial will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield, MO.

Memorials may be made, in Brenda's memory, to either NorthCare Hospice House or St. Mary's Catholic School in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
