(From Ulmer Funeral Home)On Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026, Lenora (Lee) Atnip passed on to her home in Heaven at the age of 81. She lived her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many people.
Lenora (Lee) Baker was born on February 25, 1945, in Kansas City, MO to Raymond and Lenora Baker. Her family moved to the Webb City, MO area during her high school years and she graduated from Webb City High School in 1963. Later that same year on August 17, 1963, she married Ted Atnip and after 59 years of marriage, Ted passed in 2022. The couple lived in the Jasper County area throughout their marriage and after living in their home two miles north of Alba, MO for many years, Lee moved to her current address in 2023 at Airport Drive, MO.
Lee accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 11. She was a member of Purcell Baptist Church for many years and more recently was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. Her example to others in her Christian faith was exemplified through her hospitality, her responsiveness to lift others in need and through her loving support to her family. Along with Ted, you could find her at church events, extracurricular school events and many sporting events over the years, cheering on and encouraging her family, players and teams playing at the time. She was a strong rock for her family and friends to lean on.
Lee is preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her parents, Ray and Lenora Baker; her brother, Ray, Jr. and her sister, Sandra Shively.
She is survived by her four children- son, Carl and daughter-in-law, Amy; son, Brian and daughter-in-law, Debbie with their four children of Braden, Loran, Chandler and Dylan and a great-grandchild, Everett; daughter, Mindy and son-in-law, Doug Forbes with their three children of Kelsa (husband, Dusty), Gavin (wife, Ashley) and Cale and three great0grandchildren of Brynleigh, Rylann, and Colson; and son, Marty and daughter-in-law, Trenna with their four children of Erin, Avery, Kylie (husband, Taner) and Kelsey (husband, Cole) and six great- grandchildren of Idris, Indigo, Leah, Parker, Braelynn, and Brody and two sisters-in-law, Delores Atnip and Pat Baker, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Purcell Baptist Church and the funeral service will be on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Purcell Baptist Church at 10 AM with burial to follow at the Purcell Friends Cemetery.
