Richard Storm

Richard (Stormy) Storm, age 83, of Joplin, MO, passed away Monday, June 1st at Solace House of the Ozarks.

He was the son of the late Buford and Pearl (Cockrum) Storm and was helped raised by his stepfather, Yeoman Crowder. He was a resident of Joplin, MO until moving to Springfield, MO in 1984. Richard graduated from Joplin High School in 1960. He met Jeannie Rea and they married on October 15,1966 in Joplin, MO.







Richard was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed being an active member of his church. Some of his favorite past times were going to garage sales and collecting gnomes. He was also an avid bowler spending his lunch hour from S.S Kresge at Plaza Lanes. During the summer he umpired both Little League and Babe Ruth baseball games.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sibling, Larry Storm.








Richard is survived by two sons, Kevin Storm of Springfield, MO and Shannon Storm and wife, Kellie of Nixa, MO. Two grandchildren, Ashlynne South and husband, Logan, and Skyler Storm. Two great-grandchildren, Elias and Adalynn, and two siblings, Myke Crowder and wife, Marsha, and Myla Yeager and husband, Tom, and a host of extended friends and family.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Parker Mortuary
