Kenneth (Kenny) Roy Kingrey passed away November 21, 2013. He was born in Joplin, November 20, 1934 to Fred Ray Kingrey and Agnes Stewart Kingrey. He was retired from Mid-Western Machinery where he worked for 30 years. He worked 18 years for Jasper County Title Company right after graduating from Joplin High School.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Madolyn Parker; father-in-law, Carl Parker; four brothers, Billy Kingrey, Robert Kingrey, Richard Kingrey, Donald Kingrey; brother-in-law, Ernest Richey; and nephews, Johnny R. Richey.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia Kingrey. Other survivors include one sister, Lois Jones of Joplin; two sons, David Brooks and Bev Vallejo of Kansas City, KS, Tom Brooks and wife Beth of Carthage; sister-in-law, Joyce Richey of Farmington, MO.
Grandchildren are April Smith and Travis Smith, Chad Brooks and wife Chelsie, Cherona Hicklin and husband Robin, Tara Brooks and Isaac Fritchey, Lindsey Olds and husband Justin, Sarah Massey and husband Zach, and Hank DePriest.
Great-grandchildren include Dominic Smith and Maleigha Calhoun, Devin Smith, Dymiree Smith, Dayleigh Smith, Cashé Simmons, Chase Brooks, Chesney Brooks, Hadley Hicklin, Carson Hicklin, Case Fritchey, Myles Cochran, Damon Cochran and Gunner Massey; one great-great-grandchild, Kingston Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary with visitation Tuesday, Nov. 26th from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Kenny was a 47-year member of Joplin Elks Lodge No. 501 and an avid bowler from 1971 to 2005.
He was a wonderful husband, father and granddad. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Memorial contributions may be made to Elks Lodge No. 501 in care of the mortuary.
