Patty Jean Owen, age 74, Joplin, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.
Patty was born May 23, 1939 in Austin, Texas to the late Pat Perrin and Ima Jean Hill Perrin and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life. She worked at a travel agency; Twin Hills Golf and Country Club and alongside her husband in his painting contractor business as a corporate secretary for many years. She retired in 1988. Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling and playing Yahtze!
Patty was preceded in death by her first husband, Clark Wallace and her second husband, Donald Lee Owen, on March 1, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Vermillion.
Survivors include her children, GiGi Smith, Joplin, Dana Owen, Bella Vista, Arkansas, Dale Owen, Dallas, Texas, Randy Owen, Houston, Texas, Julie Cleveland, Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Bob Perrin, Joplin; grandchildren, Jennifer Arnold, Samantha Adams, Matt Owen, Molly Owen, Justin Owen, Holly Owen, Garrett Owen, Mandy Owen, Sherri Buckles, Rusty Vermillion, Robbie Vermillion, Tina Cleveland, Scott Cleveland, Patrick Cleveland, Laura Cleveland, Benjamin Owen, Heather Owen, Nick Owen; many great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Yogi Bear.
Services are planned for Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Larry Graham will officiate. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake Adams, Tim Smith, Josh Perrin, Matt Owen, Justin Owen and Garrett Owen.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope 4 You Breast Cancer Foundation, in care of Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
