Jack E. Watson, 77, Granby, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 9, 2013 at Freeman West Hospital, following a sudden illness.
Jack was born May 6, 1936 in Washburn, MO and lived in the southwest Missouri area all of his life. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Cassville American Legion, No. 118. Jack was a retired truck driver for Praxair and was a former deputy sheriff, serving under Frosty Land and Joe Abramovitz and had worked at the Joplin Police Department, he was a member of Granby Masonic Lodge 514; was an avid fisherman, enjoyed game shows on television and farming. He loved his grandchildren and always called his dogs, ‘his girls’. He was saved at a tent revival in November, 1947 at Washburn and was baptized in a creek and Jack was a faithful member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Jack and Bea (Fry) were married on May 3, 1957 in Duluth, MN and she survives. Also surviving are two children, Scott (Cindy) Watson, Springfield, MO; Stacey (Joey) Adams, Granby; four grandchildren, Cara Watson, John Watson, Jackson Adams and Will Adams, one brother, Ed (Jan) Watson, Joplin and two sisters, Bonne (Carl) Smithson, Springfield and Lana (Bob) Cantwell, Cassville.
