Robert K. Walker, age 75 of Joplin, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013 at his home.
Born June 2, 1938 in Joplin, he was the son of the late Pug and Hazel Treadway Walker and lived in Joplin his lifetime. He was a 1955 graduate of Joplin High School. Bob served in the U.S. Army. He managed the former Porter Cadillac dealership and then owned and operated several of his own car lots. For the past 25 years, he worked for CNF Farms serving as Land Manager. Bob loved to play golf and was well known in the sport. He was also a former member of the Governor’s Mounted Guard.
He married Carol A. Yeakey Walker in May of 1985. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Gina Walker Noble of Stillwater, OK, Kelsa Brown and husband Rob of Omaha, NE; two stepdaughters, Tracy Borgmeyer and husband Brian of Joplin, Karen Brock and husband Darrell of Carl Junction; nine grandchildren, Chase Brown, Alec Eubanks, twins Branon and Bailee Brown, Lucy Borgmeyer, Braxton Noble, Ben Borgmeyer, Aidan Brock, Christian Brock, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve and Dick Walker.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors through Parker Mortuary.
