Arretta Curtis

Arretta Beatrice Curtis 90, died at Medicalodge Neosho on January 25, 2016. 

Arretta was born August 12, 1925 in Goodman, Missouri and lived most of her life in the Joplin - Neosho area. Arretta married Thomas J. Curtis who preceded her in death in March 1966. Arretta managed Katz Restaurant in Kansas City and Bob Cummings Restaurant in Joplin for many years. She published a cookbook named "Arretta's Treasured Memories", was an avid quilter and accomplished seamstress. As a teenager she worked in the fields with her father. She prepared her father's strawberry fields using a mule to plow and prepare the field.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Curtis, Neosho, Missouri and Steve Curtis, Harrison, Arkansas. One daughter Carolyn Jean Reagan preceded her in death. Arretta had one sister, Katheryn Horton, Miami, OK. Ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was a member of the Pentecostal Faith.

Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
