Gary Wayne Whitaker, age 55, Joplin, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the V.A. Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas after an illness.
Gary was born August 23, 1960 in Joplin to the late James E. Whitaker and Carolyn M. Wibbing Whitaker and had lived in the Joplin area all of his life.
He worked as a fleet manager for DHL for ten years and had also worked as an EMT for St. John's Regional Medical Center for several years. Gary was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Whitaker, Duenweg ; two grandchildren, Kyle and Rylee; his brother, Jim Whitaker; three sisters, his twin, Terri Whitaker, Joplin, Deborah Klingman, Rogers, Arkansas, Melissa Foster, San Antonio, Texas; and several other extended family members.
A memorial visitation is planned for Saturday from 11-12:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States, in care of Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
