Hazel Sargent

Hazel L. Sargent, Age 83, of Webb City, Mo., passed away on Saturday January 9, 2016, at National Healthcare, following an illness.

Hazel was born on April 9, 1932 in Preston, Mo., the daughter of the late Fred and Edith (Graham) Forste. She was one of eleven children. She married the love of her life, Norman E. Sargent on May 13, 1949 in Kansas City, Mo. Together they raised three sons. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a longtime member of Peace Tabernacle Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was well known for her wonderful cooking.

She is survived by her three sons, Terry Sargent, Oronogo, Mo., Jerry Sargent, Oronogo, Mo., and Michael Sargent and wife Debbie, Joplin; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Bishop Franklin Buchanan I and Pastor Franklin Buchanan II will officiate. Burial will be in Webb City Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Tyler Sargent, Aaron Richardson, Nathan Sandridge, Jeremy Sargent, Mike Rousselot, Josh White, Caleb Morrison, and Israel Thompson.
The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
 
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
