Mary Earlene Friend, 88, Wyandotte, OK passed into eternal rest at 1:15 am, January 25, 2016 at her home in Wyandotte surrounded by her family.
Mary Earlene Leader was born July 21, 1927 in Newton County the daughter of Clifford and Gussie (Van Gunda) Leader. Mary was a lifelong area resident. She formerly worked as a Production Supervisor at Eagle Pitcher Plant in Seneca. Earlene was a member of the Long Assembly of God Church.
Mary Earlene Leader married Raymond Friend July 24, 1944 in Columbus, KS and he preceded her in death. Also preceded her in death were her parents; two brothers, Tom Leader and Lan Lee Leader; one granddaughter Terisa Shipley; one great-grandson Russel Shipley and one great-granddaughter Jamie Hull.
Survivors include one son; Ernest Friend and wife Carol, Joplin, MO; four daughters, Barbara Bryant and husband Jim, Fairland, OK, JoAnn Wasson and husband Russel, Miami, OK, Brenda Phillips, Wyandotte and Wilma Hawkins and husband Jerry, Pensacola, FL; two sisters Gay and Gayle; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 am, January 27, 2016 at the Long Assembly of God with Pastor Mike Younger officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with grandsons, Lance Friend, Darren Bryant, Duane Bryant, Greg Wasson and Bryan Merriman serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Long Assembly of God in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865.
