Carolyn Jane Watkins, age 64, of Carl Junction, Mo., joined Jesus in Heaven on December 31, 2015.
Carolyn was born on May 15, 1951, the daughter of the late Fred and Betty Friend. She was a very talented Art teacher and taught at Labette Community College. Before that she was a hair stylist for many years. She was a loving mother to her three children and a good friend who has helped many people throughout her life. Carolyn loved flowers and had a green thumb, everything flourished under her care. For all of you who knew her you were truly blessed.
Carolyn is survived by her three children, R.J. Watkins, Joplin, Josh Watkins, Seneca, Mo., and Charolette Watkins, Joplin; her sister, Suzie Hoag and husband Bob, Joplin; and one brother, Randy Friend and wife Susan, Wyandotte, Ok.; and numerous cousins and more people who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Watkins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday January 16th at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Reverend Ernest Friend will officiate. Please come and share memories of Carolyn. The family will receive friends immediate following the service.
