Leonard A. Clark, 89, Wichita, Ks., passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, September 28, 2017.
Leonard was born August 15, 1928 to Ezra and Louise (Durkop) Clark in Maquoketa, Iowa. Leonard married Barbara H. Allison December 15, 1951. She preceded him in death after 25 years marriage. Leonard then married Edith Lavon ( Hayzlett , Moore) in 1978.
Leonard served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the Battleship USS Massachusetts. He worked in many small shops and finally worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. (Mt. Joy Ia. ) retiring in 1977. He lived for many years in Joplin, Mo., briefly to Topeka Ks., and finally to Wichita Ks. Leonard was a life member of Edward W, Knapper VFW Post 6174. His other passions included fishing, mushroom hunting, playing music, and playing cards and dice with family and friends.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter, Pete, Henry, James, George; sister Melva,
Leonard is survived by wife Edith of 39 years; brothers Dave (Loretta), Glenn (Mickey); sister Darlene Kay Streets (Charles);sons Timothy (Geradette) Clark, Steve (Jacinta) Clark, Edwin Clark, Stanley Clark, Jason Clark, Kenny (Sherry) Hayzlett, Rodney (Yvonne) Hayzlett; daughters Vickey Moore, Linda(Jeff) Facemire, Debbie (Doug) Blain, Lora (Ed) Schiffelbein, Judy (Garry) Nelson.
