William “Bill” Hoskins, 70, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life peacefully on February 3, 2019, in the comfort of his home.
Bill entered this life on December 13, 1948 in Glencoe, Kentucky to the late William and Thelma (Courtney) Hoskins. He was raised in Kentucky and Indiana. Bill graduated from North Dearborn County High School in 1967 and entered the Navy in April of 1968. Bill proudly served his country in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in April of 1974. On June 14, 1975 Bill married the love of his life, Barbara Kelly. They shared forty-three years together. They resided in Indiana before moving to Anderson in 1986. Bill never knew a stranger and would help anyone anyway that he could. He was a skilled carpenter and created custom furniture.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford Osborne, a brother-in-law but more like a Dad, a son Danny Hoskins and his niece Pamela Osborne Kirk.
Bill is survived by his wife Barbara of the home, his daughter Angie Hoskins of Anderson, his three beloved granddaughters Kaitlyn Hoskins of Rushville, Illinois, Macy Smith and Myla Smith of Anderson, his sister Nanette Austin of Dillsboro, Indiana, sister Joyce Beyers of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and brothers Jerry Hoskins of Indiana and Bud Hoskins of Kentucky, his niece (but more like a sister) Sandy Martini, uncle Elmer Emmerich of Kentucky; many nieces and nephews as well as host of other family and friends.
Memorial service for Bill will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. Pastor Phillip Scott will officiate.
