Kelley Lackey

Kelley Jud Lackey, 68, formerly of Parsons Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at his home in Stockton, Missouri.

He was born April 15, 1950 in Neodesha, Kansas to Jud and Ruth (Knox) Lackey. As a child he lived in Vinita, Oklahoma until his family moved to Parsons in 1960. He attended Prairie Valley School and then Labette County Community High School. Summers were spent working with his dad at Jarboe-Lackey Feedlot. After high school he bought his first semi-truck and hit the road. He hauled everything from strawberries to bombs, thoroughly enjoying his life on the road.

He and Kristine Schmidt Lackey were married in 1971 and his only child Kelley Jud Lackey II was born. They later divorced. In 1981 he married Linda Bush. They were married for 30 years before divorcing in 2016.

In his retirement Kelley enjoyed gardening, building things out of pallet wood and his Scotty dogs.







Survivors include his fiancé Deborah Cox of the home, his son Kelley (Caroline) Lackey and children Ian and Kathryn of Emporia Kansas, his sister Kathryn Lackey of Stockton, Missouri and his step-sons Brian and Darren Bush of Wichita and Golden City, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service was held Saturday, February 23 at Thayer Cemetery
