George Miller

George W. Miller, age 85, of Webb City, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Freeman Hospital, surrounded by his family.

George was born on June 4, 1933 in Pittsburg, Ks., the son of the late Benjamin Frank and Sylvia (Nixon) Miller. He served in the US Army during Korea. He has lived in the Webb City area since 1981. He worked as an accountant for Conoco Oil Company in Ponca City, Ok. and Tyson Foods in Monett, Mo. until his retirement in 1995. After retirement he worked for Stone Hill Winery in Branson, Mo. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Webb City. George loved flea markets, auctions and garage sales. He was an avid Webb City Cardinal fan enjoying football games the most.

He married Donna Norris on June 2, 1957 in Pittsburg, Ks., and she preceded him in death on October 4, 2017. Additional survivors include; two daughters, Penny Miller and Vickie Miller Aldridge, both of Webb City, Mo.; one son, Frank Miller and wife Natalie, Republic, Mo.; two sister-in-law’s, Mary Beth Lewis, Pittsburg, Ks. and Marilou Norris, Redings Mill, Mo.; six grandchildren, Carrie Vore, David Aldridge and wife LaTosha, Jake Aldridge and wife Meghan, Daniel Aldridge, Madeleine Miller, and Nicholas Miller; and five great-grandchildren.









He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Emily and Lauren Miller; one brother, Owen Miller; four brother-in-law’s, Bob Norris, Les Eurit, Tom Lewis and Ronnie Comer; and two sister-in-law’s, Betty Eurit and Jean Comer.

The family will hold a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Webb City. The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Webb City R-7 Foundation because he loved his Webb City Cardinals.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
