Binh Tan Tran, age 65, Carthage, MO, passed away Friday afternoon, February 22, 2019 at his home. Binh was born March 25, 1953 in Kien Giang, Vietnam to the late Vi Van Tran and Tinh Thi Tran. Binh graduated high school in Saigon, Vietnam. He then attended Wichita State University in Wichita, KS, where he received his certification in refrigeration for heating and air.
Binh was united in marriage to Huyen Nguyen; she survives. He was the owner and cook of the Vina Express Food restaurant in Carthage.
Survivors include his wife, Huyen; father-in-law, Ken Nguyen, Wichita, KS, and mother-in-law, Qui Doàn of Australia; one brother, Tran Tan Cong (Nhung), Wichita, KS; one sister, Tran Thi Phuong Khanh (Duc), Vietnam; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held 7-9 pm, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral mass will be held 10 am, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer Church, Carthage. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
