Dean Dowd

Dean Denver Dowd, age 76, Neosho, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dean was born January 4, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of the late Dean Denver Dowd, Sr. and Esther Maude Alexander Dowd. He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, graduated from Stet High School, and worked as a mechanic for years before marrying Linda Mauzey in 1964. He purchased his own truck, and was a truck driver all of his adult life, retiring in 2014 due to health reasons. He purchased his last truck in 1998, and for years (prior to the song) he used the handle of "Rubber Duck" on the CB. He always said he had that handle first. He loved his family, and was known as a fighter through all of his health issues. He will be greatly missed by his wife, daughter, grandchildren, and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Eagan.







Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Linda Dowd; daughter, Deborah Brodie and husband Michael of Goodman, Missouri; son-in-law, Kenneth Eagan of Washburn; four grandchildren, Darrell Lee Eagan and wife Crissy of Washburn, Julie Lee Bates and husband Brandon of Neosho, Colton Denver Hines and Lilly Ann Hines both of Goodman; two great-grandchildren, Dustin Eugene Bates and Averie Lee Bates.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
