Carl Biggers

Carl Biggers, age 82, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away at his home Saturday, February 23, 2019, following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 4, 1936, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Clyde and Mary (Walthall) Biggers.

Carl worked as a police officer for the City of Joplin for 21 years. After his retirement, he went to work for Tri-State Trucking in the security department. Carl was a member of the Joplin Heights Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, trustee and a Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed fishing, fly tying and wood burning. He loved going to Bennett Springs and Roaring River.

He married Mary Painter on January 3, 1954, in Twin Falls, Idaho, and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Rocky Biggers, and wife, Delila, of Joplin, Missouri; four daughters, Monica Dixon and husband, Edward, of Joplin, Ramona Marvin of Joplin, Melody Cline and husband, Guy, of Crane, Missouri, and Robin Baranack and husband, Patrick, of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Roberta Ashcraft, Twin Falls, Idaho; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.







Carl was preceded in death by his parents; four grandchildren; one son-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Gerald Bass officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00-1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
