(From Simpson Funeral Home)Clay Andrew Hensley, age 15 of Carthage, MO, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 from a tragic incident that happened in St. James, MO.
Clay was born November 10, 2004 in Joplin, MO and grew up in the Carthage, MO area. He attended Carthage Schools for most of his academic career.
Clay wasn’t your average teenage boy. He was always busy doing something, whether it be buying, selling and trading things or recycling metal. He loved animals and music. He enjoyed going to swap meets with his dad or just hanging out with friends.
Clay was loving and very big-hearted. He always wanted to be a part of the action and was a helper, willing to lend a hand in any way that he could. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
Clay is survived by his mother, Bridgett Tatum; father, Dustin Hensley; siblings, Landon Hensley, Ethan Hensley, and Kaitlyn Page. Clay is also survived by maternal grandparents, Greg Tatum, and Melissa Tatum; paternal aunt, Saundra Iseli; maternal aunts, Brittany Willis, Daphne Bass, and Darci Heritage; one maternal great-grandmother Marylin Paugh and one maternal great-grandfather Richard Tatum, as well as dozens of cousins and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Anita Hubbard and maternal great-grandmother Jacqueline Stirewalt.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, MO at 11 a.m.
