Nick Mikoliza

Zoltan (Nick) Mikoliza passed away at Mercy Hospital in Carthage, after a short illness, on September 18, 2020, at the age of 96. Nick was born in Detroit, Michigan to Nicholas and Esther Mikoliza, on July 25, 1924. 

His dedication and work ethic can be seen through his employment and schooling over the years. Nick was drafted into the Army after graduating High School. Upon completing his military service, he attended a Pharmacy School in Kansas City, while working part-time for the Postal Service. 

Upon receiving his diploma, he moved to Neosho and was employed at Sale Memorial Hospital, followed by employment at Leeterly Drug Company and retiring from McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage in July 1988. Nick was a member of the Joplin Elks Club. He built and enjoyed racing go carts for many years. He loved NASCAR racing and traveling. However, his favorite leisure activities included listening and dancing to the music of his good friend Max Brown. 








He is survived by his wife, Sharon; Son, Terry Mikoliza; Stepson, Dale Hodges and wife Allison; Stepdaughter, Susie Shaddy and husband David; Grandchildren, Sarah Shaddy, Jenah Shaddy, Billy Mikoliza, Shawn Hodges and Nichole Hodges. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two sisters, Margaret and Helen Mikoliza. 

Family will receive friends from 5:00pm-6:30pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Memorial Graveside Service will be at 10am Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Belfast Cemetery, Neosho, Missouri. Reverend Rick Stiegman will be officiating.
